This will be an opportunity for every member of GPBC to get involved in some of our greatest outreach opportunities this year! Please pray and ask the Lord to prepare your heart for what He desires of you in this noble effort of “Loving our neighbor as ourself!”
See you at the Rally!

Solomon, inspired of God, tells us “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18.
In Jeremiah 23:28 the Scriptures tell us “The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully…”
GPBC Vision Night will be a service that I will cast our vision for GPBC during 2017 and share our LOVE WORKS Projects for this Spring!
I simply cannot express to you the importance of every member and friend of GPBC to be here!
Please mark your calendar and make plans to come to this exciting service! I know that I can depend on you to pray and prepare for this great night!
God bless you!
This week GPBC will be celebrating “I Love My Church!” Sunday, February 12, 2017.
We will enjoy the special music of the choir, and soloists that will thrill your heart and glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! There will also be helpful and encouraging preaching from God’s Word. We will also enjoy fellowship with some of the greatest people that you will ever meet in this world!
In Ephesians 5:25 the Bible tells us that “Christ also loved the Church, and gave himself for it”! Every Christian ought to faithfully love and support their church.
As your pastor, let me encourage you to be in Sunday School at 9:45am sharp, our Morning Worship Service at 11am and then back again Sunday Night at 6pm.
Let me also encourage you to bring an unsaved or unchurched friend with you this week! It could change their life and their eternity!
If there was ever a reason that we should love our church it is now! God has been so good to each of us! Let each of us show our love for our Lord and His church by not forsaking it this Sunday!
The psalmist said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” Psalm 122:1
I am looking forward to seeing you!
God bless you!
Welcome Missionaries Jason and Cherith Ottosen and family to GPBC this Sunday!
GPBC Missionaries to the Kamean People of Papua New Guinea, Jason and Cherith Ottosen will be our guests this Sunday February 12, 2017 at 6pm!
We have faithfully and prayerfully supported them in their desire to make the Gospel known and the Word of God printed in the language of the Kamean people.
Make plans to be here Sunday Night at 6pm to hear and be challenged by their inspiring testimonies, encouraging reports from the field and great preaching!
Bring a visitor!
God bless! See you Sunday Night!
Hebrews 12:2 exhorts, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
With these words in mind our focus for this new year is on the soon return of Jesus Christ. Like Jesus, we “must be about [our] Father’s business” in this year, serving faithfully, praying diligently, and hoping fervently for the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This year, will you join with us in fervent commitment to live for Christ? If Jesus returns this year, will you be found faithful?
There are many opportunities to serve the Lord in your daily life and through the ministry of Greater Portland Baptist Church. Take advantage of the open doors the Lord places before you to minister His love and grace. Be in your place when the church gathers together in worship. And don’t forget to “look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28,b).
We’ll see you in church tonight at 7pm for our Mid-Week service and this Lord’s Day; 9:45AM for Sunday School, 11AM for the Morning Worship Service and 6PM for the Evening Service.Read More
